Annual Call for
Artists
The Lake
George Arts Project Gallery Committee invites artists to submit slides of
recent work for exhibition at the Courthouse Gallery. The postmark deadline for submission of slides, proposals, &
support materials is always January
31. We seek proposals from professional artists and craftspersons (those making a living, or endeavoring to
make a living, through their artwork). Strong preference is given to
work created within the past two years. We also welcome proposals for
special exhibitions, installations, mixed media presentations, and
performance art. At this time we require hard copies of all of
materials, including high-quality slides and/or color prints of your
artwork, or videotapes of your video, new media and/or performance art. We
regret that we cannot accept CDs, emailed submissions, or links to web
sites in lieu of hard-copy submissions, but we welcome them for
reference. Please do not send original art works with your
application, we cannot be responsible for loss or damage. Selection and notification is usually
complete by the end of March. Slides so designated and accompanied by
a self-addressed stamped envelope will be returned at that time.
Submission Guidelines
Please include the following:
1. Ten to twelve 35-mm slides of recent work
in a plastic slide sheet. Each slide must be marked with artist's name,
title of work, indicate top of slide, medium, date of work, and dimensions.
2. Slide list.
3. Resume.
4. Artists Statement and/or
Brief description of current work.
5. SASE for slide return.
6. Exhibition proposal (optional).
If you are proposing an installation, curated
show, or other special exhibition, please include appropriate material to
back up your proposal.
