Hudson Headwaters Project II

About the Collectors Club

It has always been our mission to provide income and exposure opportunities for artists – The Collectors Club is just one of the many ways we do that.

Years ago, The Lake George Arts Project offered the Collectors Club as an artwork subscription program. In its original form, members could sign up, donate at a certain level and would receive 4 works of original art for their collections.

In 2020, we reimagined the program as an online art sales catalog designed to help support regional artists and The Lake George Arts Project in the early phases of the pandemic when arts participation and sales opportunities were few and far between.

For 2022, we brought the program back and are partnering with Hudson Headwaters to help them find artwork to add to their collection and install in their Broad Street offices in Glens Falls.

About Hudson Headwaters and their commitment to the arts

Hudson Headwaters believes that art can promote the health and healing of our patients, visitors and staff and that creativity and contemplation are key components of wellness, as well as drivers of innovation. Our art collection intends to provide an outlet for introspection and inspiration and to encourage a dialogue about our collective human experience. They seek to collect artwork that contributes to the ongoing creative culture of our community. Local and regional artists are always given first consideration for collection and acquisition.

GUIDELINES
_______________________________

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any artist within 50 miles of the Hudson Headwaters Broad Street (Glens Falls) office. Artists do not have to be members of The Lake George Arts Project or a past exhibiting artist to participate.

HOW MANY PIECES CAN I SUBMIT FOR SALE?

Artists can submit up to 3 works for sale.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY WORK

Artists should fill out the form (below) completely, then follow the instructions for submitting your artwork. If we have any questions about the artwork information or your image files, we will reach out to you!

WHAT KIND OF WORK CAN I SUBMIT?

This particular call will see works purchased for a busy medical office that sees families and children.  For this, we are accepting,

• 2-D works (no fiber or photography pieces for this project. The building has a substantial photography collection installed and they would prefer solid surfaces for this particular space)
• work must be ready to hang
• minimum size of 10″x 10″ (framed)
• because the work will hang in a facility that often treats families and children, they’re looking for work that is bright, uplifting, modern, colorful, happy, and/or inspirational.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING WORK?

The deadline for this project is November 18 at 11:59pm.

WHAT SIZE WORKS CAN I SUBMIT?

Submitted works should measure 10″ x 10″ or larger.  Please just be sure to record accurate, framed, dimensions of the work you are submitting on the form.

CAN I SUBMIT 3-D ARTWORK?

Unfortunately, because the work will be displayed in a busy health office, we can’t accept 3-D submissions at this time.

PRICING YOUR ARTWORK:

We ask that artists submit works priced at $700 or less. The payment structure is 70% to the artist and 30% to The Lake George Arts Project.  The commission we receive from artwork sales helps us present not only our core programs, but also helps us develop new programs, like this project.  The Lake George Arts Project will take care of all of the NYS sales tax.

DO I NEED TO FRAME MY 2-D ARTWORK?

All work must be ready to hang, with appropriate hardware. Framing with glass or plexi should be used when appropriate. Unframed, stretched canvas pieces are also acceptable (and don’t need frames) as long as they are ready to hang with wire hangers and the sides are given appropriate attention and care.

QUESTIONS?

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!  You can email Tanya Tobias, Executive Director at: [email protected] or Laura Von Rosk, Gallery Director, at: [email protected]
